I know it's just a common worker honey bee and you've probably seen lots
but it's not so common on a yacht in the middle of the bay
with about a mile to shore in every direction.
Whether blown here on the wind
or misdirected lost
who knows.
The truth is, that a few are landing on the yacht for a rest every day
so maybe they are traversing the bay on their mission
and just using the yachts in the middle
as 'driver survivor' rest stops.
I was inspired to take these close-up shots of our little visitor
by our friend Maggie from Natal in South Africa
who takes marvellous insect macro shots
around her garden every day
and posts them on
from your friends
Rodney & Penny
(firm believers in regular rest stops)
